I grew up in Yorkshire, which I think is where my love of landscapes originates. Just a 10 minute drive out of my hometown and you're in the open fields where the rolling hills meet the (often very expressive!) sky at the horizon and I found a lot of peace there. However, as a teen growing there into an adult, I also had the very normal feelings of confinement and claustrophobia. I've tried to portray that contrast of feelings - freedom and confinement - here in 'Yorkshire Walls'.
